Today’s Scripture
.
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds” – (2 Corinthians 10:3-4).
.
Thoughts for Today
.
Without realizing it, many Christians have allowed Satan to establish strongholds in their lives. One of the greatest hindrances to living a godly life is carnality, which can prevent us from praying and knowing the mind of God. If left unattended, carnality can build power bases of self-centeredness deep within our hearts and minds.
.
When we study God’s Word, we quickly discover that prayer is instrumental in dissolving carnality and the desires that go with it. In fact, prayer is the primary key to uncovering and pulling down every stronghold Satan seeks to establish in the life of a believer.
.
In the Greek translation, the word stronghold literally means “fortress.” In other words, the enemy of our souls seeks to set up a fortress within our lives to prevent us from discovering God’s will and from living for Jesus Christ. For example, worry and fear are emotions each of us has experienced. When these become obsessions, we quickly realize that a stronghold has been established. Uncontrollable lust, hate, anger, and bitterness are strongholds that can lead us further from God’s will for our lives.
.
However, we are not without a strong defense. There is hope because we have been given a powerful weapon. Prayer equips us for spiritual victory. Therefore, we do not have to battle against an enemy greater than we are. God fights for us through prayer. As evidence of this, read what Paul has written to us in 2 Corinthians 10:3-6.
.
Our weapons are not carnal; they are not of the flesh. They are supernatural and powerful, able to tear down the dark fortresses of the enemy. Don’t hesitate to call out to your heavenly Father who loves you with an unconditional love.
.
Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, search my heart and show me any strongholds in my life. Please grant me the strength to demolish them, so that nothing will hinder my testimony for you. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.”

Have a Blessed Wednesday and God Bless you.

AFGHANISTAN, SOUTH ASIA
.
According to Brad Adams, Asia director at Human Rights Watch, “Afghan government officials have proposed reintroducing public stoning as a punishment for adultery, even though the practice has been denounced both inside and outside the country as one of the most repugnant symbols of the Taliban regime. It is absolutely shocking that twelve years after the fall of the Taliban government, the Karzai administration might bring back stoning as a punishment.”
.
Pray for President Karzai to reject this proposal and believe in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
.
Pray for Afghan Believers to boldly and passionately share the Gospel in their communities.
.
Pray for a large harvest of souls in Afghanistan

KUWAIT, ARABIAN PENINSULA

Kuwait’s supreme ruler, Emir Al-Sabah, has welcomed Iran’s role in promoting interaction among regional countries. These regional countries are the ones mainly around the Persian Gulf. Iran is reaching out to countries like Kuwait to strengthen relationships and to try to assure them that they are not building an atomic bomb. Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran said the Islamic Republic considers the pursuit and possession of nuclear weapons “a grave sin” from every logical, religious, and theoretical standpoint.
.
Pray for the government of Kuwait to have wisdom as they interact with Iran on the nuclear front.
.
Pray for the words of the Ayatollah to be true, that having nuclear weapons would be a grave sin

A four-day “general strike” by opposition members across the country turned violent as protestors clashed with police and government officials. Approximately eighteen people died and many others suffered injuries. According to FOX News, the strike was “meant to force Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to quit and form a caretaker government made up of people from outside of mainstream political parties to oversee an election next year.”
.
Pray for peace in Bangladesh ahead of the upcoming election.
.
Pray for reconciliation between the ruling party and the opposition.

JAPAN, EAST ASIA
.
Recently, the Japanese government drafted a new “secrecy” law designed to strengthen security within its borders and with its allies. However, critics are concerned the new bill violates freedom of expression and is nothing more than government censorship. According to human rights activist Kazuko Ito, the proposed act is “frightening.” Navi Pillay, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, says, “Some of the concerns are that there is not sufficient clarity as to what constitutes a secret. Lawmakers should not rush through the law without first putting in proper safeguards for the rights to access information and freedom of expression as guaranteed in Japan’s constitution and international human rights law.”
.
Ask the Lord to give Japanese officials wisdom and discernment as they consider the Secrecy Act.
.
Pray for Japanese Believers to use their freedoms of speech and expression to share the Gospel.
.
Pray for many Japanese people to accept Jesus Christ into their hearts and lives.
