Thoughts for Today
.
Most farmers are very hardworking people. They know that in order to have a bountiful harvest, they have to remain committed to their crops and to their land. They can’t begin a project, stop halfway through it, and expect to be successful. If they want to reap a harvest, they must be committed. The same is true for our life in Christ.
.
Farmers can’t allow their machinery to fall into disrepair. They can’t say, “Well, I don’t feel like planting this year, or l don’t feel like harvesting my fields.” Instead, they must be willing to get up before sunrise to plow their soil and sow their seed. This is why lazy people never make good farmers. Farmers must be diligent and persistent. We must be diligent and persistent in our relationship with Christ.
.
The weather is not always fair for farmers, just like life is not always fair to us. There will be hardships; times when you want to give up, but you must not. If you feel you are not growing in your walk with the Lord, ask yourself whether it is because you have failed to cultivate fields of godly character and desire.
.
We must never forget that we reap what we sow. If we don’t till the soil of godly character and plant the Word of God in our hearts, then we will harvest emotional and spiritual thorns and thistles. There is no harvest unless you sow with a willing heart in the things of God. Ask Him to show you how to sow in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit will grant you the understanding when you pray and seek God’s face.
.
Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, will you please help me to till the soil of godly character—being diligent to sow good things by Your Spirit? Please grant me patience and diligence so that I may see the harvest in Christ. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.”

Have a Blessed Wednesday and God Bless you.

EGYPT, NORTH AFRICA
.
Egypt has been going through tough times, but God is at work. Up to one million Egyptians have left Islam, with most of them becoming Atheists. Former President Morsi is said to have done more to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ than anyone in recent history. This is because he forced Islam on Egyptians, which put many off. Pray for the Bibles that are going out. Some Christians have passed them out on street corners.
.
Pray for the Egyptian Church.
.
Pray for the training of Egyptian Christian Believers who are moving the Good News of Jesus forward.
.
Pray that God protects, gives His wisdom, and brings fruit among Muslims.

In Uzbekistan, authorities routinely imprison and torture journalists and human rights activists. According to the United Nations Committee against Torture, “Detainees are tortured, including by beatings, rape, and sexual violence, to extract confessions. When it comes to practicing torture, Uzbekistan represents one of the countries where torture occurs systematically, and sometimes in the worst forms.”
.
Pray for the Uzbek government to treat prisoners with fairness and respect.
.
Pray for freedom of speech and expression in Uzbekistan.

Pray for government leaders to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The Nepali Congress party recently won 105 of the 240 Constituent Assembly seats. The Nepali Congress is Nepal’s oldest political party and strongly supports solid ties with India. The Maoist Unified Communist Party of Nepal alleges the elections “were riddled with fraud.” However, impartial election observers refuted their claims. Praise God for a peaceful election in Nepal.
.
Pray for the new government leaders to seek God’s wisdom in leading the country.
.
Pray for members of the Nepali Congress party to come to a saving belief in Jesus Christ.

The World Expo 2020 will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a great honor for the UAE to host an event like this, which will place the UAE on the world centre stage. But a report of systematic torture of prisoners in Dubai is also getting world press attention. Other human rights violations will also have to be examined as they build many new buildings.
.
Pray for the UAE authorities to take these reports of torture seriously and act in justice.
.
Pray for the UAE authorities to seek to bring a blessing on all the foreign workers who will help pull together the World Expo.
