Thoughts for Today
.
There is an identity crisis at work; not just in our lives but also in our churches. It comes as the result of our being willing to accept and even embrace other religions as being equal to Christianity. This false view has weakened our faith and has caused us to give up what we once held as dear; our godly convictions. Many in our society, those who claim to be Christians, are suffering from an identity crisis because they are confused about their Christian faith. However, the Bible makes it clear.
.
A Christian is a person who has repented of his sins, surrendered his life to the lordship of Jesus Christ, and acknowledged that without Christ’s death on the cross, he would go to hell for eternity.
.
How do we avoid confusion and deception, especially when our world paints such pleasant pictures of sin and compromise?
.
Begin by being committed to the study of God’s Word. Then, make sure the church you attend is one that teaches God’s Truth without compromise. God forgives and restores us when our hearts are turned toward Him.
.
Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, Thank you for the Cross. Thank you for dying for my sins. Please forgive my sin and for compromising Your Truth. Please strengthen me in the Truth by Your Word and in community with other believers. I pray I will be an encouragement for godliness and righteousness to them, too. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.”

Have a Blessed Tuesday and God Bless you.

BENIN, WEST AFRICA
.
According to Najat Maalla M’jid, a United Nations independent expert on the sale of children, child abuse in Benin is a “serious concern.” M’jid says, “Children in Benin are victims of violence, abuse, and exploitation on the pretext of traditions, customs, or poverty. Numerous children are victims of trafficking, labor, or sexual exploitation, mainly in markets, quarries, or fields.” There are many forms of child abuse in Benin, including “infanticide of children considered to be ‘sorcerers,’ female genital mutilations, abductions for placement in ‘voodoo convents,’ forced marriages, corporal punishment, and rapes.”
.
Pray for the Benin government to crack down on child abuse.
.
Ask the Lord to surround Benin’s children with a hedge of protection to keep them safe from violence and exploitation.
.
Pray for Benin Believers to share the Gospel with “the least of these.”

INDONESIA, SOUTHEAST ASIA
.
In Binjai, hundreds of Islamic extremists attacked a Protestant Church, forcing members to leave the Church and cancel weekend services. Police dressed in riot gear safely escorted the Believers home. The radicals, members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), also received assistance from local Islamic groups. It is unclear whether authorities arrested any of the assailants. The FPI members do not believe the Church is legal and attacked the Church in an attempt to pressure local authorities.
.
Pray for Binjai officials to legalize the Church and stand strong against FPI demands.
.
Pray for the safety and growth of the Church in Binjai.
.
Pray for FPI and government officials to believe in Jesus Christ.

LAOS, SOUTHEAST ASIA
.
Village officials gave locals the authority to persecute three Christian families in an attempt to force them to leave. The villagers are allowed to arrest them, steal their land, destroy their livestock and possessions, and rape the women. The families remain because “they have nowhere else to go.”
.
Ask the Lord to protect and provide for these families.
.
Pray that God would shelter all Laos Believers from violence and harm.
.
Pray that the villagers will refuse to comply with the government orders.
.
Pray for village officials to repent of their evil ways and turn to a saving belief in Jesus Christ.
