. Kindly Pray for the Prayer Point . . BRUNEI, SOUTHEAST ASIA . After introducing ruthless new penalties based on Sharia Law, women’s rights groups are concerned the government will use stoning as a means of punishing women for “adultery.” Many times, women who report rape and sexual abuse to authorities are, instead, charged with adultery. A number of human rights groups are calling on the Brunei government to repeal the new law and defend the nation’s women from wrongful accusations and death. . Pray for an end to Sharia Law in Brunei. . Ask the Lord to shield the women in Brunei from this harmful practice and sexual assault. . Pray for the Gospel to spread in Brunei. . . LEBANON, MIDDLE EAST . Other than Syria, Lebanon is one of the countries most affected by the civil war in Syria. Lebanon houses Syrian refugees, but it is the physical fighting between supporters of President Assad and those of the Sunni-backed Syrian rebels inside Lebanon that is pushing this conflict deeper in Lebanon. Pray against the rising conflict between Shi’ite and Sunni Muslims in Lebanon; this will only lead to more deaths. . Pray for the government to have wisdom to control this conflict and help care for its own people. . Pray for the church in Lebanon to be a brighter glowing light as the darkness increases. . . QATAR, ARABIAN PENINSULA . Qatar is a very rich country because of the natural gas that it controls and sells to the world. However, spiritually it is very difficult for Qataris. Among the local Qatari population there is really no local Church. There are a few Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Most of them do not fellowship together out of fear. . Pray against fear that keeps local Believers from meeting together. . Pray Jesus would build His Church in this land among the local population. . Pray that foreign Christian workers would be united and seek to reach out to those around them. . . TURKMENISTAN, CENTRAL ASIA . At a National Security Council Meeting, Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, “We have to put a reliable barrier to drug smuggling and completely eradicate drug addiction, which causes great damage to modern society.” President Berdimuhamedov called on “civil society organizations, law enforcement authorities, and healthcare institutions” to work together on preventing drug addiction, particularly among youth. . Praise God for the government’s willingness to tackle drug smuggling and abuse. . Pray for Turkmenistan youth to turn from the appeal of illicit drugs to the fulfillment of a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. . Pray for Christian Believers to share the Gospel with young people in Turkmenistan. .
