. Kindly Pray for the Prayer Point . LIBYA, NORTH AFRICA . In the country of Libya there are three large groups of people: Arabs, Berbers, and Tuaregs. All three would like to see more governmental power given to the people. Pray for stability; pray for a government that can bring unity to these different peoples and bring honor to the Arabs, Berbers, and Tuaregs. . Pray for God’s Word to become alive and active in all the different languages spoken in Libya. The country needs more Arabic Bibles. The Berbers and Tuaregs have available very limited portions of Scripture. . Pray that more Bibles and Scripture in all local languages would be available in Libya. . . MALAYSIA, SOUTHEAST ASIA . Authorities confiscated 2,000 copies of a Christian newspaper at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Officials from the Home Ministry did not cite a reason for the seizure. According to Reverend Hermen Shastri, general secretary for the Council of Churches, “This is shocking. It is unacceptable. It is a denial of rights of the church to distribute its newsletter, which is meant for its own members. If there are no grounds (for the ministry’s order), we will definitely strongly protest.” . Pray for the Malaysian government to stop harassing Christian Believers. . Pray that the Ministry officials who impounded the newspapers will read about the Gospel and believe in Jesus Christ. . Pray for the growth of the Malaysian Church. . . OMAN, ARABIAN PENINSULA . Teachers in Oman went on a strike which affected half a million students. The government is now considering standardizing pay grades, as well as banning strikes in essential services that include oil companies, refineries, ports and airports. Oman has also been working to increase Omani people in the workforce, thus relying less on foreign laborers. . Pray for the government of Oman as it seeks to help its own people find employment. . Pray for the creation of new jobs and economic prosperity. . Pray for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to move forward in Oman. . . KAZAKHSTAN, CENTRAL ASIA . In 2013, the Kazakh government fined 119 people for practicing religion without government permission. The fines are around two months’ wages. If the fines go unpaid, the individuals are banned from leaving the country. According to Forum 18, some of the violations include “leading or meeting for worship without the compulsory state registration, selling or distributing religious literature which has not undergone state censorship and in a place which does not have a state license to sell religious materials, sharing one’s faith with others without being personally registered as ‘missionaries,’ and inviting others to attend religious meetings.” . Pray for freedom of religion in Kazakhstan. . Ask the Lord to provide financial blessings to those being fined. . Pray for government officials to hear the Gospel and believe in Jesus Christ.
