Kindly Pray for the Prayer Point . TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA . Tunisia continues to be going through political struggles as it seeks to move forward from the Arab Spring. Politically there is no stability. Al-Qaeda is getting stronger in places like the south and west of the country. The Church in Tunisia has continued to be a place of light, but Tunisians seem to be fearful to meet and gather. Tunisians are coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ, but the Church has remained the same size. . Pray for Tunisian believers in Jesus to meet together, fellowship, and enjoy the Lord together. . Pray for the government to have wisdom in leading Tunisia into the future, as the economy is not doing well. . CAMBODIA, SOUTHEAST ASIA . According to the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR), there is “rampant impunity” in Cambodia because “murders of human rights activists and journalists are never investigated, security forces that have beaten civilians go unpunished, and several well-connected officials have evaded justice despite being convicted.” CCHR Project Coordinator Sorn Ramana says, “Perpetrators and bad people commit crimes arbitrarily, and they are not afraid of any laws. They are not afraid of being prosecuted. The impunity is making innocent people into victims.” . Pray for an end to government corruption in Cambodia. . Ask the Holy Spirit to convict the consciences of government leaders and bring justice to their victims. . Pray for the Gospel to spread in Cambodia. . TURKEY, SE EUROPE & SW ASIA . According to The New York Times, Turkey’s government is “moving aggressively against its perceived adversaries.” Activists believe the government wants to quash the opposition. Eyup Muhcu, a member of the Taksim Solidarity Platform, says, “It has come to a point where members can’t even tweet without fear of being investigated for their thoughts.” Others suggest President Erdogan is merely trying to prevent further anti-government protests. Professor Saban Kardas with the University of Economics and Technology in Ankara says, “It is not a witch hunt, but definitely the government is tightening the screws. It’s a preventive move.” . Pray for freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of expression in Turkmenistan. . Pray for peace and openness between the government and the opposition. . Pray for the Turkish people to find true freedom in Jesus Christ. . NORTH KOREA, EAST ASIA . The North Korean government publicly executed approximately eighty people in seven cities across the country. Officials accused the victims of owning Bibles or watching South Korean movies. According to FOX News, “Eight people—their heads covered with white bags—were tied to stakes at a local stadium in Wonsan, before authorities shot them with a machine gun. Wonsan authorities gathered a crowd of 10,000 people, including children, and forced them to watch the killings. They watched in terror as the corpses were so riddled by machine-gun fire that they were hard to identify afterward.” Family members of the executed were sent to prison camps. FOX News continues, “Simultaneous executions in seven cities could suggest an extreme measure by the North Korean government to quell public unrest.” . Pray for Kim Jong-un and other government leaders to repent of their evil deeds and believe in Jesus Christ. . Ask the Lord to comfort the victims’ families and watch over them while they are in prison. . Pray for the Gospel to spread like wildfire throughout North Korea.
