Thoughts for Today
.
There are times when we confuse our happiness with God’s will. When everything is running smoothly and we are as happy as can be, we presume that we are in the center of God’s will. However, when things take a turn for the worse, we tend to presume just the opposite: we are not in God’s will.
.
Our initial reaction to friction in our lives is to change something. If everything looks unsettled, then we must be doing something wrong. Yet, if the unsettling is taking place around us and not in our spirit, God wants us to turn to Him and hold on.
.
As Abraham dealt with what he viewed as a delay in receiving God’s promise for his life, he tried to change his own circumstances. If God was not going to open Sarah’s womb, Abraham sought an alternative way to fulfill God’s promise for his life.
.
God desires to fulfill His promises for us. He never intends for us to hear His promises and then go and try to make them happen ourselves. When our lives reach a point where there seems to be no way out, we must be obedient at all costs. Disobedience delays God’s promises for our lives.
.
Anyone can obey God when life is easy. When obeying God means helping someone with minimal effort on our part, we joyfully oblige. But when obeying God means there is sacrifice or waiting involved, we must not turn about-face and run.
.
God may ask you to do some difficult things throughout the course of your life. However, when you follow His lead, all that you do will be for your best and for His glory.
.
Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, help me to be obedient today, no matter how easy or difficult it might be. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.”

Have a Blessed Monday and God Bless you.

INDIA, SOUTH ASIA
.
In northern India, attackers viciously tortured and murdered a seven-year-old boy because of his family’s Christian faith. According to Gospel for Asia founder and director K.P. Yohannan, “It’s unthinkable that this would happen to a little child like this. Persecution against Christians is an ongoing matter that we see happening every week. In fact, it’s increased by 400 percent in the last several years, but the killing of a little child like this is unheard of.” William Stark, Regional Manager for International Christian Concern, says, “The brutal attack on this young Christian boy is absolutely despicable and must be condemned by all of India’s diverse society. The perpetrators of this heinous act must be brought to justice and decisive action must be taken by India to protect Christians’ rights to religious freedom.”
.
Ask the Lord to comfort the young boy’s grieving family.
.
Pray for the murderers to be caught and prosecuted.
.
Pray for the Gospel to spread in India despite increasing persecution.

MAURITANIA, NORTH AFRICA

.
Mauritania, a desert country of 3.2 million people, has iron ore, copper, and gold, and is starting to explore offshore oil and gas. And yet, the people remain extremely poor. Some Mauritanians lean politically and religiously toward al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.
.
Pray for President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz who came to power through a coup five years ago.
.
Pray for wisdom to care for the poor and to fight against extremist Islam.
.
Pray that the government would open the door to more freedoms for the Church.
.
Pray for the small Church to grow in maturity.
.
SUDAN, NORTH AFRICA
.
With the independence of South Sudan, the government in Khartoum, Sudan, has had less oil to sell on the world markets. Because of this lack of oil, the government has withdrawn fuel subsidies for its own people. This increase in gas price has caused mass demonstrations throughout Khartoum and Sudan. Pray for the people of Sudan. Already poor, their poverty is increasing. Sudan seems to be getting darker.
.
Pray for the Church left in Sudan. Many Christians left for South Sudan following independence, but those that remained face persecution.
.
Pray for them as they continue to try to shine the light of Jesus in these dark days.
.
SOUTH SUDAN, NORTH AFRICA
.
Juba, the capital city of South Sudan, has experienced over 1,000 deaths during recent political unrest. The clashes started from a coup attempt against President Salva Kiir. Though the coup was thwarted, fighting continues. Due to the political situation, a curfew has been imposed.
.
Pray for the South Sudanese during this time of unrest. They need strong leadership in the government and a way to bring peace to the nation.
.
Pray for peace between the Dinka and Nuer tribes.
.
Pray for the beleaguered South Sudanese as they deal with sickness, limited and unclean water, and sporadic electricity due to the fighting.
