Jesus Sacrificed His Life for Us

Jesus Sacrificed His Life for Us
Kindly Pray for the Prayer Point at the end

Today’s Scripture
.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual act of worship” – (Romans 12:1).
.
Thoughts for Today
.
Francois Nelon writes: “Whatever spiritual knowledge or feelings we may have, they are all a delusion if they do not lead us to the real and constant practice of dying to self. And it is true that we do not die without suffering. Nor is it possible to be considered truly dead while there is any part of us which is yet alive.”
.
This spiritual death (which is really a blessing in disguise) is undeniably painful. It cuts swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires, exposing us for who we really are. The Great Physician, who sees in us what we cannot see, knows exactly where to place the knife. He cuts away that which we are most reluctant to give up. How it hurts!
.
God wants His children to live abundantly, but this is only possible when we are open to His refining, sometimes painful, work in our lives.
.
Abraham was not the only one of God’s saints who had to make a choice concerning self-sacrifice. David, the prophets, the disciples and the apostles all came to a point where they willingly laid down their lives—their personal desires, goals, and dreams—for the love of God.
.
Remember, Jesus obediently sacrificed His life for you. He did not avoid the pain and suffering of the Cross. Instead, He focused on the joy ahead for Him at the right hand of the Father. Consider Jesus’ example as you are being fit for His purposes.
.
Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, You, and You alone, are my first love. Please sustain me as you fit me for your purposes. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.”
.
Have a Blessed Wednesday and God Bless you.

Kindly Pray for the Prayer Point

ALBANIA, SOUTHEAST EUROPE
.
Recently, Albania joined forces with Europol to fight organized crime and enhance relations with the European Union. According to Saimir Tahiri, Albania’s Interior Minister, “The agreement is historical because it recognizes the achievements of the state police, but above all, provides a boost for the ongoing reforms and the results already achieved in the fight against organized crime and corruption.” Authorities believe the agreement will improve information exchange and aid the Albanian government in tackling counterfeit money, money-laundering, and cyber crime.
.
Pray for the success of the new accord between Albania and Europol.
.
Pray for an end to corruption and organized crime in Albania.
.
Pray for Albanian officials to hear the Gospel and believe in Jesus Christ.
.
MOROCCO, NORTH AFRICA
.
Morocco’s economy is poor and unemployment high. The UN says that Morocco is responsible for producing 42 percent of the world’s supply of marijuana. Most of this goes to Europe. The government is taking steps to legalize the growing of marijuana for industrial and medical benefits.
.
Pray for wisdom for the government as it seeks to understand the effects of such a decision on the country. There is a dichotomy between the religion of Islam, and the freedom to produce drugs.
.
Pray for the young people who are unable to find jobs. While the government seeks to give freedom to grow drugs, the Church still faces persecution and lack of freedom.
.
IRAQ, MIDDLE EAST
.
Iraq has become known for car bombings and other attacks on people, but places of worship are increasingly targeted. On Christmas Day, three Christian sites were attacked and at least 38 Christians were killed. Sunni and Shia religious sites are also targeted on religious holidays and days for worship. Terrorists want to kill Christians, Shia, and Sunni, and then target their places of worship.
.
Pray against the terrorists’ deliberate targeting of innocent Iraqi Christians, Shia, and Sunni.
.
Pray for the Iraqi police to be able to rid the country of these terrorists.
.
Pray for the Church to continue to be a light in the midst of persecution.
.
SRI LANKA, SOUTH ASIA
.
Although the civil war ended in 2009, the Sri Lankan government still interrogates, arrests, and abuses Tamil sympathizers. According to a 2013 Human Rights Watch report, there were “75 documented cases of alleged rape and sexual abuse that occurred from 2006-2012 in both official and secret detention centers throughout Sri Lanka. Many of these abuses occurred after the hostilities ended in 2009 and include victims who had returned to their homeland to visit family or rebuild their lives in the new and peaceful post-war country.”
.
Pray for peace and reconciliation between the Sri Lankan government and Tamils.
.
Ask the Lord to heal and restore this war-torn nation.
.
Pray for an end to the torture and sexual abuse of Tamils.
